I’m so genuinely passionate about this reggae-infused anthem, which celebrates individuality, freedom, and the courage to live authentically. A laid-back skank groove interchanges with uplifting rhythms, encouraging  you to dance to your own drum and embrace life on your own terms. This is a timely reminder that true joy comes from following your inner  compass, even when the world moves in another direction. Blending sun-soaked melodies with a rebellious, yet positive spirit, this is both an irresistible groove and a life philosophy—a reminder that carving your own, unique path is the most powerful, inspiring rhythm of all!

‘Against The Grain’ was inspired by an I Heart Songwriting Club theme word of ‘lentils’ which just goes to show, you really can write a song about anything! Even though lentils are (technically) a pulse in the food world, artistic license beats technical,so ‘going against the grain’ formed as my idea around which I built this message of inspiration.

The message is this.
Live your way, without fear or shame, no matter how hard that might seem at times.
Be proud and brave, swim against the tide of societal expectations.
Stay unique. Stand strong in your power. The true you is SO BEAUTIFUL!
