kissing the flint – creating sparks

Multi-award nominated international singer-songwriter Leah Jett is an Australian-brewed artist, Scottish-distilled since 2020 where she has been based in her father’s native land. Leah created Kissing The Flint (translation: creating a spark) to cut through the fakery of the modern world. Fueled by an authentic, adventurous spirit, powerhouse voice and shape-shifting depth of songwriting alchemy, she captivates audiences with heartfelt stories and vivid imagery, softness and sass – moving easily from melodic, roots beauty to empowered rock raunch, one mesmerising moment to the next.

If you've got a sweet tooth, this one's for you!πŸ˜‡ β€˜Angel Cake’ was inspired by an I Heart Songwriting Club theme word of β€˜binary’, which inspired me into thinking about the power of two, and how two sides of a personality - the angel and the devil in all of us - mixes together to create an individual blend that's baked to make delicious, irresistible you. πŸ«– So, stick the kettle on, set the tea table and get ready to dig into a sweet slice (or two). This is the title track from the new album 'Rule The World' being performed live by the band last FridayThe Lodge Arts CollectiveCollective. This song is dedicated to my Dad, but it's also for anyone facing a tough time in life, whether that be due to addiction, grief, loneliness, someone treating you badly, whatever your challenges. This song was I Heart Songwriting Clubongwriting Club theme 'hour of power'. I got to thinking about how an hour of someone's day can be HUGE for them. I wanted to share some hope, to inspire those struggling, to let them know that moving forward by one minute, one hour, one day at a time, is still winning. You will get there, even if it doesn't feel like that right now. Because every journey starts with just one step. And you really have got this.Don't worry about trying to rule the world.Just rock YOURS. ... See MoreSee Less
