‘All We Can Do’ – New Single is A Message of Hope
My new single ‘All We Can Do’ is out now on all your favourite streaming platforms and I’d really love to hear what you think! This is emotive, lushly instrumented pop-reggae track navigates the adversities we all face at one time or another in life, underpinned by a positive message of holding on to hope, to uncover our inner strength. To keep calm and carry on, and to renew ourselves in the eye of the storm with faith.
I originally wrote ‘All We Can Do’ as a blues-rock song for my second album, released on my 2024 Australian tour. Even though not released as single at that time, it achieved an Australian Songwriting Association Top 10 indie-rock award and a UK Songwriting Award commendation in my first year of entering, recognition for my writing that I’m super proud of. Huey Dowling at Unit 7 Studio in South West Scotland thought it would also sound fantastic as a pop single, and we worked together to re-imagine the original blues-rock album track. I was very excited to also work for the first time with Ben Findlay (Real World, Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, to name a few) who mastered the track.
This collaboration with Unit 7 Studio will also see the release later this year of my third (and first UK) Kissing The Flint album ‘Rule The World’, showcasing my songwriting versatility and an empowered shift towards a fresh sound with country pop/rock, soul, and even reggae-ska influences heading your way.
‘All We Can Do’ reflects on how we all have the ability and strength within ourselves to push through and soldier on, even when our days feel darkest. When we feel like mere spectators of our own lives, standing on the outside looking in and fearing that we’re losing control over our destiny, try to remember that all is not lost. Ride the rolling stone and believe that the light is waiting for you up ahead to banish the shadows, if you can only hold on to hope.
I hope this song brings some light and hope into your world in some pretty crazy times in modern history.
Together, we are stronger – and you are stronger than know.
Keep moving forward, always. We’ve got this thing called life!
